This Toronto house was in desperate need for a fix. After a lengthy construction, we’ve let in the sunlight by taking down the staircase wall and opening up niches to create a more airy space in the hallway. The staircase is now a focal point which interacts and connects with the spaces around it. We modified the entrance to the kitchen in order to create a functional one with more counter space. We also designed a small nook at the end of the kitchen by the window to serve as a breakfast area (A table will be added later on).
