An out of date kitchen gets an up-to-the moment overhaul.

 

The kitchen in a Thornhill house had absolutely overstayed it’s welcome. The wood tone cabinetry did not provide enough storage. The unappealing dark grey backsplash absorbed the limited daylight, and resulted in the room’s drab look. The pot rack which hung atop on the peninsula also created visual interruptions and chaos.

 

Our approach: we took down the kitchen soffit, as a result, created an extra foot of storage overall. We also moved the pot rack from peninsula to the corner by the cooktop for easy access. A pantry was installed to provide even more storage. Wine cellars beside the fridge with spice racks creating yet another focal point. We redesigned the work station with a wood slat backsplash along with hidden ambient LED strips. We have one spice rack and 2 utensil pegboards on each side under the cooktop. A 2-tier corner cabinet organizer that we installed makes the most of the space.
